The Tula Region governor has disclosed the budget for the regional club that has joined the Russian Premier League this season.

The team will rely on 320 million roubles for the next year, Vladimir Gruzdev was quoted as saying by Sport-Express, a major Russian sports newspaper.

The team based in the city of Tula, some two hours’ drive to the south from Moscow, is led by former Spartak player Dmitry Alenichev, who managed to lift the club from the lower ranks to the top echelons of Russian football.

The team’s performance has been disappointing but it appeared to have caught wind in the sails after a win over leader Zenit St Petersburg in the national cup tournament.

Arsenal is second from the bottom, with 11 points in 17 games.

Arsenal’s budget is miniscule compared with its rivals from the top of the table. Zenit has reportedly had $300 million, followed by Dynamo Moscow ($210 million), Spartak ($155 million), and Lokomotiv Moscow ($145 million).
