Russian Circus Wins Silver Clown in Monte-Carlo

Acrobats of the Russian State Circus Company have won Silver Clown at the 39th International Cirque de Monte-Carlo Festival.

      It was the Synchrony circus act directed by Arkady Shatirov, a Merited Artiste of Russia.

      The Russian State Circus Company was founded after the collapse of the USSR. It is the successor of the USSR State Circus Company, which existed from 1919.

      Last year the Russian State Circus Company for the first time in the history of the International Cirque de Monte-Carlo Festival won its first prize - Gold Clown, which is often referred to as the circus Oscar.

      The 39th International Cirque de Monte-Carlo Festival is held in Monte-Carlo from January 15 to January 25.
