The second monument to Marshal Georgy Zhukov will be fixed up in Manezhnaya Square in Moscow on January 28.
It will be timed to opening of the exhibition of the Grekov Studio of Military Artists marking its 80th anniversary in the Manege exhibition hall.
The double life-size monument to Marshal Zhukov was made specially for the anniversary exhibition. The temporary monument will stand till February 23.
The first monument to Marshal Zhukov in Moscow was erected in Manezhnaya Square near the Iversk Gates of the Kremlin on May 8, 1995. In autumn of 2014 the Committee in memory of Zhukov suggested moving the monument to the Kaluga Region. However, the city monumental art commission rejected this suggestion.
