Ministry of Environment Protection of the Chelyabinsk Region will grant the special status to the lakes Yelovoye and Bolshoi Kisegach. 

      This measure will make it possible to support environment without changing the land use category.

      The natural monument status will make it possible to restrict anthropogenic activities, road traffic and car parking, forbid dumping of washed soil, deforestation, and using toxic chemicals, the Ministry press service specifies. The preservation status will not restrict building any objects, provided that it doesn't entail polluting the lakes and adjacent area.

      The lakes can be ensured maximum safety if they get the nature sanctuary or national park status, the ecologists point out. However, this matter is under the jurisdiction of federal but not local authorities.
