The resumption of military operations in the south-east of Ukraine undermines the effectiveness of the preparations for the meeting in the “Norman format”. This statement was made by the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov, according to RIA Novosti.
“The resumption of military operations on the part of the Ukrainian authorities, of course, seriously undermines the effectiveness of the possible preparations for the “Norman meeting” - he said. According to Peskov, currently “the preparation does not look as probable as it did before the resumption of military operations in Ukraine”, as TASS notes.
Earlier it was planned that the meeting of the leaders of the “Norman quartet” - Russia, France, Ukraine and Germany - would be held in January in Astana.
