The Stanislavsky Electrotheatre earlier known as the Stanislavsky Moscow Drama Theater will be opened after a major repair.
Anatoly Efros and Anatoly Vasilyev's student, the stage director Boris Yukhananov headed the theater in July, 2013, after winning the competition of Moscow Culture Department on the concept of developing the Stanislavsky Drama Theater.
Major repair of the theatre premises lasted for more than a year. The architectural bureau Wowhaus, which earlier worked on design of the Gorky Park and Krymskaya Embankment, was in charge of the theater reconstruction.
According to Boris Yukhananov, the Electrotheatre is unique for the fact that it is “the only theater, which endured fundamental transformation, and completely preserved the troupe”.
The theater is located at the address 23, Tverskaya Street. It housed the popular Electrotheatre cinema hall from 1915 and the Stanislavsky Opera and Drama studio after the revolution. Later it was turned into the Stanislavsky Drama Theater.
