Biopic TV series about the classical Russian writer Alexander Griboyedov will be made soon.

The Russian director Nikita Mikhalkov has decided to screen the life story of the esteemed Russian diplomat and nobleman, poet and composer, the Russian mass media report.

“It is time to take old ideas from the stock. It took us 37 years to prepare for The Sunstroke, whereas Griboyedov script was written in 1985. It was authored by Sasha Adabashyan, Yura Loshchits, Irakli Kvirikadze and me”, Nikita Mikhalkov said in an interview at the 8th International Kustendorf Film Festival.

According to the Russian film director, the scenario came to be tremendous. In spite of the fact that we are in 2015, its essence – the life and death of Alexander Griboyedov and improbable historical discoveries remain important to this day.

Nikita Mikhalkov points outs: “We proved that the death of Alexander Griboyedov was not arranged by Muslim common herd, but was a cold-blooded murder planned by the British. Alexander Griboyedov was an ingenious, great person with amazing intuition and his weak side too”.

According to the film director, the release date is not known yet.
