Photographer Andrey Parshakov destroys stereotypes about Chukotka as desert land of permafrost.
In the Darwin Museum presents his exhibition Unknown Chukotka. The photographer was born and grew up in Chukotka. His works show nature under the influence of permafrost, which takes about 60 per cent of the entire Russia, mostly in Eastern Siberia and Transbaikalia.
Bright lichens, translucent haze in the air and sun heated stones — all these are in vivid contrast to the myth around northern regions of Russia.
The exhibition runs till March 1.
