The Belarusian artist Yury Yakovenko is well known in Western Europe.
His personal exhibitions took place in Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Sweden and Cyprus. The artist’s works are kept in collections of the Library of Vatican, as well as in private collections of Queen Elizabeth II, and the Spanish and Swedish royal houses.
The Belyaevo Gallery in Moscow opens the exhibition Engraved Myths: Fruits, Animals, and Kings… It includes about 200 works created by the Belarusian engraver Yury Yakovenko in the last 12 years. His works are often surrealistic, while characters remind of fantastic heroes.
The exposition includes both individual etchings and large series of engravings.
The exhibition runs till February 8.
