The pilot project on payment of passenger travels by bank cards at the ticket offices of the Metro will be launched until the end of March 2015. This will allow passengers to pay in the ticket offices without cash.

The experiment is planned to be held at the ticket offices of the southern hall of the “Leninsky Prospekt” station of Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line of the Moscow Metro. The card terminal equipped with a keypad for PIN code dialing is to be located in the passenger area, the steps of payment for the purchase by the passengers will be in full conformity with actions steps they take in the major retail chains. It is planned that the terminals will support contactless payment technology.

If the card payment service will prove to be popular among the passengers during its testing, other ticket offices of the Metro will be equipped with devices for bank card payment.
