The Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko, responding to the initiative of the Legislative Assembly Deputy Vitali Milonov on giving the name of Akhmad Kadyrov to one of the city streets, questioned the need for such action.
“With all due respect to the person of Akhmad Kadyrov, I should admit that he was not directly involved into the life of St. Petersburg, he neither lived not worked in our city” – this was the response of Poltavchenko to the request of Milonov published on the website of Smolny.
The Governor quotes a survey held by a city edition, according to which, 84% of respondents said they did not want to name a St. Petersburg street after Kadyrov. At the same time the Governor of the northern capital said that the issue of naming one of urban environment objects after Kadyrov will be worked out by the Committee for Culture.
