The State Tretyakov Gallery in Krymsky Val holds the exhibition Imaginary Reality of the artist Zorikto Dorzhiyev.
Zorikto Dorzhiyev (1976) is a Buryat artist working in easel painting, graphic art, book illustration and sculpture. He was a costume designer for the film Mongol (directed by Sergey Bodrov, 2004) and the art director of Celestial Wives of Meadow Mari (directed by Alexey Fedorchenko, 2012).
Having imbibed the cosmopolitism of modern European art, in the operation Zorikto Dorzhiyev keeps following national traditions. The artist mostly paints in oils, but also uses mixed technique, with some golden foil and acrylic colors added.
The exposition presents more than 60 works created during the period from 2005 to 2014: paintings, drawings and bronze sculptures.
The exhibition runs till March 1.
