Author of Program A Passed Away

The well-known television director Sergey Antipov has died in Moscow.

He was known to most of the Russian audience as the author and the TV host of Program A broadcasted from 1989 to 2000.

For the first time this telecast was on air as Pop Music News. Later on its author Sergey Antipov suggested names of its sections, all of them starting with letter A: Alternative, Avant-garde, etc.

Russian rock stars, such as Konstantin Kinchev (Alisa), Yury Shevchuk (DDT), Vyacheslav Butusov (Nautilus Pompilius), Egor Letov (Grazhdanskaya Oborona), Vladimir Shakhrin (Chaif), Andrey Makarevich (Mashina Vremeni), and many others repeatedly took part in this telecast.

In spite of the fact that Program A has not been broadcasted since 2000 thousands of alternative music fans watch it again and again.
