Oleg Stepchenko's film Viy based on the same name story by Nikolay Gogol has won the Blockbuster award.
It has been recognized the most high-grossing Russian film of the year 2014.
The film by Oleg Stepchenko had box office receipts of 1.2 billion rubles. Besides, it became the most high-grossing film in regards to every copy (1.1 million rubles). Viy producer Alexey Peretrukhin was announced the producer of the year at the ceremony.
However, the comedy Kitchen in Paris, which collected the amount six times higher than its production budget, was recognized the most profitable Russian film.
The Subway directed by Anton Megerdichev became the smash hit Russian film in foreign distribution. The catastrophe blockbuster had the BO receipts of $3.2 million abroad.
