Russia is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the outstanding actor Vladimir Zeldin.
The People's Artiste of the USSR and the oldest working actor of Russia, he has turned 100 today.
In spite of his age Vladimir Zeldin remains vivacious, up and doing. He is traditionally celebrating his birthday on stage of the Russian Army Theatre, where he has worked for 70 years.
Stunning is stamina of 100-year-old Vladimir Zeldin: he performs fragments of plays, recites poems and sings without phonogram for three hours long.
The actor will mark his 100th birthday with the premiere of a stage production that unfolds the events of his long life time.
Vladimir Zeldin says that he lives in love: with people and his characters. He likes to quote his favourite Don Quixote: “The worst madness is to see the world as it is and not to notice what it should be”.
