Thai Airways International announces the termination of the flight program on the route Bangkok - Moscow from March 29, 2015 until economic situation in Russia gets better, according to the website of the Russian representative office of the company.
“Regardless of the preserved strong interest in Southeast Asia from Russian travelers, the airline company decided to suspend its activities on the territory of the Russian Federation until the improvement of the economic situation in the country and the return of stable demand for flights”- the message said. The reason for the cancellation of flights was a drop in demand for international transportation from Russia and high financial risks of the airline company. “Despite the fact that Russia ranked third in numbers of tourist flow to Thailand, the airline company cannot compete with charter flights” – the web-site quotes the comment of the President of the airline company Charamporn Jotikasthira on the closure of the THAI office in Moscow.
