Winzavod Centre of Modern Art has opened two exhibitions of the Russia. Research project.
The two exhibitions are dedicated to the Mari and the Chuvash peoples and their republics.
The Mari.Research and Chuvash.Research exhibitions present photos and objects of traditional ethnic culture. Photographers Ikura Kuvadzhim and Albina Shaimuratova captured the Mari's ceremonies: traditional prayer of the Mari religion and celebration of the New Year. Fedor Telkov’s photos series The Hidden People. The Ural Mari is dedicated to a small group of the Mari living in the Urals.
The photographer Ivan Mikhaylov researches the adaptation of the Chuvash paganism to the modern days. The photo project by Sergey Novikov traces the changes in the look of Cheboksary, the capital city of Chuvash Republic over the last 10 years.
The exhibition runs from February 11 till March 8.
