The Ministry of Finance wants to reduce budget expenditures by an additional 600 billion roubles, according to TASS.

According to the Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, it is a compulsory measure.

In addition, the government has plans to reject certain investment projects and reduce the financing of the already existing articles. “In order to reach a 5 per cent reduction of budget expenditures in real terms, we need to cut down another 600 billion roubles” – Siluanov said. He also noted that this figure is an addition to the planned 10% reduction in the budget by 900 billion roubles. The Minister also shared the plans to cut 50% of financing of a number of old investment projects and to give up some new ones. “We have a number of measures to consider this week and to offer them as amendments to the budget for 2015” - TASS quotes the words of the Finance Minister. In January of this year Anton Siluanov, speaking at the Gaidar Forum, announced the need to cut down government expenditures by 10% on all articles, except protected ones.
