The film Under Electric Clouds by the Russian director Alexey Hermann Jr. has won the Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution at the 65th Berlin Film Festival.
The awarding ceremony took place in the Berlinale Palace on Saturday. The Silver Bear goes to the cameramen Sergey Mikhulchuk and Evgeny Privin. One of the film producers Artem Vasilyev got the prize for them.
The poetic drama film Under Electric Clouds consists of several short stories telling about lives of totally different people: from wayward youths to successful architects, from rich successors to Kyrgyz guest workers. The scene of the stories is set in Russia of 2017. All the characters take great pains over the point of life and apprehend the imminent danger of war. The film was co-produced by Russia, Ukraine and Poland.
