Film on Wildlife of Siberia Shot on Lake Baikal

French cameramen are shooting the feature film In the Woods of Siberia on the island of Olkhon in the Baikal Lake.

The film tells a story about two eremites, a Frenchman and a Russian, who find themselves in the wild nature and live far from the comforts of civilization and noise of the megalopolis.

The leads are played by Raphael Personnaz and Evgeny Sidikhin. The film director is Safy Nebbou known for the film L'Autre Dumas starring Gérard Depardieu.

The film is based on real events. The scenario was written after the story by the French traveler and writer Sylvain Tesson, who had spent half a year in Baikal winter quarters.

The film shooting is planned to be completed in May. The Russian-French film will be released next year.
