An old, but well-preserved ticket used in the Moscow metro in October 1990 was found two days after the start of the works on dismantling of the oldest escalators in the world located at “Baumanskaya” metro station performed by the staff of escalator service together with the representatives of the National Museum of the Moscow Metro.
The ticket was issued under the number ÀÏ ¹ 094882 by the Moscow Printing House “Goznak” and was designed exclusively for access to the Moscow metro. Its price made up 3 roubles for private persons and 6 roubles 50 kopecks for organizations. It should be noted that more than two thousand different types of tickets were issued during the 80-year history of the Moscow Metro. In addition to this unique discovery, many artifacts of the past century were found, for example, jewelry, hairpins, earrings, pins and other small items lost by the metro passengers.
