World’s Only Woolly Rhinoceros Mummy Found in Yakutia

Local hunters have found a unique mummy of a woolly rhinoceros cub in Yakutia.

It is the only mummy of this extinct animal found in the modern world. The remains of the extinct mammal are already being studied by researchers.

Scientists point out that this animal species lived more than 11000 years ago. The find has been named Sasha after the person who found it. According to researchers, the study of the mummy will make it possible to understand what the animals ate, what conditions they lived in and who their descendants are.

It should be noted that earlier remains of adult woolly rhinoceroses only were found in Yakutia. That happened nearly eight years ago. Experts will establish the exact age of the cup with the help of tests.
