The Tretyakov Gallery has opened the Life Theatre exhibition to the 200th anniversary since the birth of the artist Pavel Fedotov.

      Pavel Andreevich Fedotov (1815–1852) was one of the most favourite Russian artists, the author of famous classical paintings. Pavel Fedotov was called Russian Hogarth and Gogol in Colors. He painted “human comedy” of the Russian society of the 1840s in a wide range of various types and situations. The Tretyakov Gallery holds this largest exhibition of the season to give people a full picture of Pavel Fedotov’s heritage and acquaint the viewers with his personality and destiny.

      The exhibition runs till July 14.
