Forgotten masterpiece of Russian fortification can now be seen in photos displayed for the first time.

      An album of unique pictures has been found in library stocks of the St. Petersburg Artillery and Engineering Troops Museum. 28 photos captured the Krasnaya Gorka Fort at the stage of its erection!

      A number of details give the idea of the fact that the construction was quite advanced for that time. The most state-of-the-art tool – the pneumatic tool – was used for construction works.

      Now this grandiose construction, which is unparalleled anywhere in the world, is in a ruining state. Its great scale and beauty can now be observed only in the photos exhibited in the Artillery Museum.
