The authorities of Pereslavsky District of Yaroslavl Oblast offer to build a bicycle and pedestrian track 50 km long around the Pleshcheevo Lake, as Curioso Turisto reports.
As the director of the Information and Counseling Centre for Entrepreneurship Support of Pereslavsky District Tatiana Petrina told, the corresponding proposal was addressed to the Ministry of Culture. According to her, the creation of such a track could attract active tourists who like to travel by bicycle, and it would be a kind of attraction for those who come to Pereslavl-Zalessky. The cost of the track construction is estimated at 900 million roubles, and about 10 million should be spent on its design. The Plescheevo Lake is a freshwater lake of glacial origin in the South-West of Yaroslavl Oblast in Russia. Its age is about 30 thousand years and the area makes up 51 sq. km. At the end of XVII century the Pleshcheevo Lake hosted the “amusing” training flotilla of Peter I.
