A citizen of France tried to bring his wife to Poland, hiding her in a suitcase. The Polish border guards took the couple off the train Moscow - Nice in Terespol. It was reported by Wiadomosci24.pl. The man, whose name is not specified, decided to hide his wife - a citizen of Russia - in a suitcase after the pair failed to get a Schengen visa for her. The Press Secretary of Terespol border detachment (a town located near the border with Belarus) Dariusz Sienicki said that the suspicions were caused by the unusually large luggage of the train passenger.

“Foreigners are trying to illegally cross the border in different ways, but I see a tresspasser hidden in a suitcase for the first time” – Sienicki said. The border guard added that the woman felt fine and did not need medical aid after her release from the suitcase. According to the Polish law, the attempt to illegally cross the border may cost up to three years in prison for the man and his wife.
