The capital Zoo will be fully renewed by the end of this year, according to the Chairman of the State Building Control Committee of Moscow Oleg Antosenko. “Restoration of engineering utilities and landscaping of the Moscow Zoo will be completed by the end of this year” - O.Antosenko said.
He noted that by the end of 2015 it is planned to build an additional exit from the old territory of the zoo to Krasnaya Presnya Street, as well as to install turngates at the main entrance and the additional exit from the old territory of the zoo to Krasnaya Presnya Street.
Besides, it is also planned to reconstruct the existing ramps for the disabled people and build new ones, as well as open platform lifts. In some areas of the zoo it is planned to carry out a partial replacement and reconstruction of fences, installation of new fences in the form of ponds on the new territory of the zoo. The project also includes restoration of engineering utilities: water supply, domestic and rainwater drainage, electricity supply, as well as the systems of fire extinguishing, alarm, television and communication networks.
The bulk of works on the reconstruction of the Moscow Zoo was completed in 2014, to the 150th anniversary of the zoo. Then the works on the improvement of Bolshoy and Maly ponds were carried out, including measures taken for banks strengthening and landscaping of the adjoining territory.
