Production of Viy 2. Trip to China Launched in Moscow

Shooting of the Russian-Chinese film Viy 2. Trip to China directed by Oleg Stepchenko has been started in Moscow.

      “It is our first collaboration with Chinese cinematographers. The Chinese side will take part in financing of the film project. Two Chinese companies - Jackie Chan JCE and China FChina Film Group Corporation - will work on the film jointly with the Russian experts in the field of cinema” - the film producer Alexey Petrukhin report.

      According to him, stuntmen of the Jackie Chan JCE have already arrived in Moscow. The actress Yao Xingtong, who will play the female lead and two other characters, has also come to the Russian capital city.

      The plot of the new film Viy 2. Trip to China brings together ancient Slavic mythology about God Viy and ancient Chinese legends.

      The film crew will work in Moscow till April 10, and then will move to China and the Czech Republic. The film is expected to be released in 2016.
