The most usual underground passage at the “Lubyanka” metro station has been turned into a work of art. By the order of the Moscow Metro one of the Moscow Art Studios has made a mural in a style of graffiti.
The plot of the images has been developed by a professional team of designers and illustrators. Bright colors are combined in the mural so that the pictures look like they are lit from within, without needing additional lighting, according to the press service of the Moscow Metro. The basis of the plot is presented by the images of iconic structures and cultural monuments of Moscow: St. Basil’s Cathedral, the Bolshoy Theatre, Spasskaya Tower, Troitskaya Tower, the high-rise building on Kotelnicheskaya embankment, Sretensky Monastery, the Museum of History.
This passage has been selected for the project implementation due to its large daily capacity — it is located in close proximity to such important objects as the Polytechnic and Russian National museums, “Children’s World” store, and as it is known, the most part of their visitors are young people.
