The authorities of Magadan Oblast are preparing proposals for the meeting of the State Council of the Russian Federation for Support and Development of Tourism.

It is expected that the document will be considered in summer of this year. The officials of Kolyma hope for government support in the development of tourism. According to the Governor Vladimir Pecheny, the potential of the tourism sphere can be disclosed only on creation of an attractive infrastructure. As a part of hunting tourism, trophy hunting remains a priority. Magadan Oblast is of interest both to Russian and foreign hunters, primarily due to hunting brown bear, elk and bighorn sheep. Now, according to the regional department for protection and supervision of the use of wildlife objects and their habitat, the sphere of hunting tourism in Magadan Oblast includes three legal entities (hunting providers). According to statistics, in 2014 the region was visited by 58 foreign citizens and 20 Russians who came to hunt.
