The Head of the Russian Federal Fisheries Agency Ilya Shestakov proposed to exclude the planting material of oysters from the list of goods prohibited for import to the RF from a number of Western countries, as “Prime” reported.
Shestakov explained the proposal by the fact that Russia was entirely dependent on imports in this field. “Our oyster farming in the Black Sea is almost not developing due to the 100 percent dependence on the supply of spat from abroad” - he said. Shestakov reminded that the ban on imports of Atlantic salmon fry was earlier excluded from the sanctions list. According to the Head of the Agency, this year the subsidy mechanism in the field of aquaculture should start working. The branch plans to obtain loans for the construction of market farms for fish farming, as well as plants for the production of fry.
