Russian Trade With Finland Goes Down

The Finnish exports to Russia decreased by 43 percent in January 2015, as compared with the same month of last year. The import of Russian goods to Finland fell by 36 percent. It is reported by the customs department of the foreign state. Finnish goods costing 200 million euros were imported to Russia during the month.

The volume of exports of Russian goods to Finland amounted to 584 million euros. Thus, Moscow remains one of the most important suppliers of goods for Helsinki, alongside with Berlin (the volume of imports from Germany is also estimated at 584 million euros). “According to Eurostat, in January the EU exports to Russia fell by 34 percent, its imports fell by 39 percent. Thus, the collapse in the Russian-Finnish trade has become more destructive than in Europe as a whole” - the report of the customs department says.
