A production of linen yarn will be launched in Novosibirsk region. Vice President of Novosibirsk agricultural holding “Khors” Vladimir Zaychenkov told reporters that the corporation is about to launch high-tech production of linen yarn from long fibre. It is going to be located on the premises of “Maslyaninsky Len” enterprise, which was bought by the agroholding a few years ago.

Vladimir Zaychenkov commented to “RBK. Novosibirsk” on the initiative: “It will be a major textile project, including a cellulose unit. It is planned that the plant will produce mixed yarn and linen, which will replace goods of Chinese manufacturers in our market.”

Vice-President said that the hypothetical investment in the company will be around 65 million Euro, and the volume of production — 1.5-2 thousand tons of yarn. Several years ago, they tried to implement a similar initiative in the Tomsk region, but in the end the project was shelved for an indefinite time. According to Zaychenkov, the project of agricultural holding “Khors” is a good opportunity to revive textile industry in the Novosibirsk region: “The appearance of such a powerful enterprise drags along and development of the technical part of the production: equipment maintenance, local assembly”. “ROSNANO” is the only Russian investor that at the moment has expressed interest in the project, but more substantive negotiations will not begin before summer.
