The Hermitage Holds Exhibition on Museum Work During World War II

The exposition reflects life and work of the Hermitage Museum in Leningrad and evacuation.

      The exhibition is titled We will remember those years. The Hermitage Chronicle of War and Victory.  

      The exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary since the Great Victory over fascism tells about the museum activities during the Great Patriotic War. Drawings, photos and documents (altogether about 160 items) narrate about the first days of the war and evacuation of the museum, about the life of the museum staff in Leningrad and Sverdlovsk, and their everyday work for preservation of the unique Hermitage collections.

      The visitors will also learn about the scientific, lecture and exposition activities in the war years, about the return of collections after the Victory and reopening of the Hermitage Museum.
