The well-known British newspaper “The Sunday Times” published the ranking of the world’s largest philanthropists, which included the Russian businessmen Alisher Usmanov and Roman Abramovich.
According to the publication, in 2014 Usmanov spent 71.2 million pounds (108 million dollars) on charity.
The value of assets of the businessman is estimated at 9.8 billion pounds.
The shareholder of the company USM Holdings (owning the shares of “Metalloinvest”, “MegaFon”, Mail.ru Group and DST Global, the television “YUTV Holding”) took the eighth place in the ranking, being the largest Russian philanthropist.
The co-owner of Evraz and Chelsea football club, Roman Abramovich took the 13th line in the list. He invested 45.8 million pounds (69.7 million dollars) in the charity in the past year, possessing a capital of 7.3 billion pounds.
