Domodedovo, one of Russia`s major airports, will be modernized as the East Line company pledges to invest some $180m into it in 2006.
      
      The East Line company (RTS: ILHL) and the Russian Federal Agency for State Property Management are in talks on the lease of the airport for 75 years at 45m roubles a year.
      
      A new terminal is being built now; a new facade is in the pipeline. It will be a unique building of blue glass boasting a multistoried parking lot and two VIP zones.
      
      Domodedovo, south of Moscow, will house business halls, a cinema centre, restaurants, a cafe with a fountain, a terrace overlooking the air strips, stores, pedestrians` zones, parks and even museums.
      
      In near future, it is destined to become Russia`s largest airport and public place, and one of largest airports in Europe. Furthermore, the East Line company has scheduled a new luggage screening system as early as 2006 to boost its traffic and cut down on lost luggage. It will also focus on safety issues and air strips conditions. At the moment, Domodedovo is the only airport operating under any weather conditions. Recently, it landed 39 redirected planes during a fog.
