About 12 million people took part in the Immortal Regiment action held all over the Russian Federation to commemorate those lost in the Great Patriotic War.
It is reported that about 500 thousand people got together for the procession in Moscow, whereas in St. Petersburg 100 thousand locals participated in the event. People marched all together carrying portraits of their forefathers and dear ones who had given their lives for the victory over fascism.
According to the founder of the memorial action Nikolay Zemtsov, people all over Russia keep remembering the self-sacrificing feats of war veterans. Such a great number of participants of the Immortal Regiment testifies to the fact that “nothing has been forgotten, nobody has been forgotten” indeed.
