English rock music star Eric Clapton will give a concert in Red Square, Moscow, on August 3, 2006. The only concert in Russia will crown the European part of his world tour, the singer’s official site www.whereseric.com informs.
This is going to be the first Red Square performance for Eric Clapton. Joe Cocker, Paul McCartney, Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo have already sung in the heart of Moscow.
On this tour Clapton is attended by Doyle Bramhall II and Derek Trucks on Guitar (The Allman Brothers Band), Chris Stainton and Tim Carmon on Keyboards, Willie Weeks on Bass and Steve Jordan on Drums (The Blues Brothers, Keith Richards and the X-Pensive Winos, The John Mayer Trio). The Kick Horns will join in: Simon Clarke, Roddy Lorimer, and Tim Sanders on Brass, and backing vocals by Michelle John and Sharon White.
The American blues group The Robert Cray Band will support Clapton.
The world tour 2006/2007 will open in France on May 5 to be followed by concerts in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Czechia, Hungary, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
