An out-of-the-way installation has embellished the Solyanoy Lane in the centre of Saint Petersburg.

      |Pedestrians walking in the Solyanoy Lane will see an unexpected colourful sight over their heads. The organizers of the Soaring Umbrellas Avenue project have fixed more than 300 umbrellas at the height of about 5 meters from the ground. Umbrellas have been said to be informal symbols of the city of Saint Petersburg.

      The installation will be available to see and walk under for one month long period. Besides, the unusual avenue will become a setting for concerts, creative meetings and other cultural events in the near future.
