Explosion and Fire Caused by Lightning in Moscow

EMERCOM likened the power of explosion in the western part of Moscow to that of a non-fragmentation bomb.

      /Explosion and fire in the Ryabinovaya Street in Moscow were triggered by a direct lightning stroke into a gas cylinder in the construction yard SU-117.

      As a result of the explosion waste paper warehouse, the equipment of a nearby gas station, and several cars caught on fire.

      “I saw the building blowing up, then a big bang, and nothing remained of the building”, an eyewitness said.

      The fire blazed in the area of 150 square meters. One person suffered minor injuries.
