Unique Find Made by Russian Divers in the Black Sea near Sevastopol

A large ancient Byzantine ship with hundreds of antique amphoras on board has been found at the bottom of the Black Sea. Members of the Rostov-Dive club found it at the depth of 82 meters near Sevastopol. The sunken ship is up to 125 meters long.

The find has probably become the biggest discovery in the history of the Black Sea exploration in the recent centuries.

Naval mariners, archeologists, scientists of the Russian Geographic Association and members of the Rostov-Dive club are preparing for deep-water operations.

A large-scale joint expedition will kick off at the site on June 10 and will last for a few years, the Interfax reports.
