There is still a lot of snow in the forests of Kamchatka, despite the fact it is May now, which allows people to ride snowmobiles. The experts of wildlife protection in Kamchatka beat the alarm: the fans of snowmobile rides wake bears out of their lairs. Bears are very hungry at this time of year and can come to people’s houses. As the employees of the regional agency for wildlife protection told, the fans of snowmobile sport became a major factor of concern not only for bears, but for bighorn sheep, elk and other mammals and birds. The inspectors of the State Hunting Supervisory Function watched the “games” of snow mobile riders during raids: the riders neglect the standards of morality and security, raise the bears out of their lairs, chase them, frighten wild animals in the most remote corners of the region.
