A Number Of Network Functions Are Excluded From the Application Of Sanctions On the Crimea

The US Finance Ministry has clarified the procedure of the application of sanctions imposed on the Crimea. This was reported on the web-site of the agency. We are talking about the use of software and Internet services. According to the text of the license, a number of network functions are excluded from the application of sanctions. Data exchange through the Internet, instant messaging, chats and e-mail, social networks, sharing photos and movies, browsing of web-pages and blogs are allowed, provided that such services are widely available to the public for no charge to the users.

      At the same time the provision of services and the use of software in the interests of the individuals on the sanctions list are still prohibited. It is also prohibited, in particular, to provide web hosting services for commercial purposes and to register domains in relation to the Crimea
