Russias First General-purpose Microprocessor Was Shown

The “Baikal Electronics” Company presented Russia’s first general-purpose microprocessor Baikal-T1.

Unlike other developments, it was initially designed for commercial, not military purposes. Software developers will be able to get its samples together with appropriate programming aids on June 1, 2015. It is expected that its commercial production may begin by the end of 2015. The development of the microprocessor within the framework of the Federal Target Program “Development of electronic component base and radio electronics in 2008-2015” was supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
