Within the frame of preparation of Moscow for the receipt of the guests of the Football World Cup in 2018 the Department of National Policy, Inter-Regional Relations and Tourism plans to create a pedestrian route similar to the so-called “Red Line” present in some foreign cities.
This route is designed for facilitation of navigation in the city for foreign visitors and helping the visitors to get acquainted with the main attractions. The scale of Moscow, high business activity in the city centre, the requirements imposed by the capital to new facilities and the climatic conditions of the central part of Russia do not allow transferring the idea implemented in cities such as Hannover or Boston to the road surface in an unchanged, literal format.
