Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s first museum in Russia and the world has been opened in Kislovodsk.
The museum is located in the memorial building of Gorina's Mansion, where the renowned writer lived from 1920 to 1924. The house belonged to Maria Gorina, the aunt of Alexander Solzhenitsyn.
The mansion was declared an object of cultural heritage of federal value in 2008, and became a branch of the State Literary Museum in 2009.
According to the director of the museum Dmitry Back, “We recognize these places on pages of Solzhenitsyn’s world famous books, such as The Red Wheel and In Circle One".
A program of events with participation of actors, cultural figures, and scientists from all over Russia is presently being prepared by the museum founders. Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s first museum in Russia and the world has been opened in Kislovodsk.
