Year of Russian and German Languages Crowned with Exhibition on Thomas Mann in Moscow

The State Pushkin Museum has opened an exhibition about the life of Thomas Mann.

The exposition Thomas Mann (1875-1955). The Writer's Life in Photos is timed to the 140th anniversary since his birth and the Year of German Language and Literature in Russia.

According to Mikhail Shvydkoy, the RF President's special representative in international cultural cooperation, the event is “very symbolical” because Thomas Mann called the Russian literature “sacred”.

"On June 6 we will celebrate the Day of the Russian language, and the birthday of Alexander Pushkin as well as Thomas Mann, who was born on the same day 140 years back” — the museum director Evgeny Bogatyrev mentioned.

The exhibition runs from June 4 to September 30.
