The Saint Petersburg Metro can launch regular trains without drivers on one of the lines in 2019.
As the Head of the FBI “The Centre of Transport Planning” Ruben Terteryan reported, the trains equipped by automatic driving technology may be obtained by the city metro in 2017. During 2018 they may be run in a test mode of automatic driving, so that to begin to use this regime in a normal schedule in 2019. R. Terteryan did not specify whether the automatic driving regime would be fully automated or the train movement will be controlled by a dispatcher remotely.
