Books of Russia Festival to Run in Red Square

The festival Books of Russia is expected to become one of the biggest events of the Year of Literature in this country.

      

      The festival will unfold on seven interactive platforms located in the Red Square from June 25 to June 28.

      

      300 publishing houses will participate in the event. The famous Russian writers, including Zakhar Prilepin, Sergey Shargunov, Evgeny Vodolazkin, Pavel Basinsky, Andrey Gelasimov, Mikhail Veller, and the TV host Edward Radzinsky, as well as many others will present their works and will tell about the most significant books to be read.


      

It is a reminder that 2015 is the Year of Literature in Russia. Its main objectives are to promote book reading, solve issues in the book sphere and enhance people’s interest in literature.


      

A few large-scale events, for example, the writers’ forum Literary Eurasia, Biblionoch-2015 festival, World Day of the Book will be held in its framework. Moreover, the projects Literary Map of Russia, Books at Hospitals, Summer with the Book and the competition Literary Capital of Russia will be launched.
