Moscow Drops Out of Top Ten Most Expensive Cities for Expats

Moscow has lost more than 40 positions in the world cities rating as per the cost of living index.

According to the Mercer company’s rating calculated for multinational corporations, the capital city of Russia has shifted from the 9th to the 50th place.

The basis for rating is the living cost in New York, to which all other cities are compared. It turns out that the workers in Luanda (Angola), Hong Kong, Zurich, Singapore and Geneva must get the biggest compensation to their salary. New York ranks the 16th in the rating.

The cities with the cheapest living cost are Tbilisi, Minsk and Bishkek. The latter one is the capital city of Kyrgyzstan and ranks 207th, i.e. takes the last place in the living cost rating.
